Best Musical
This production should most exemplify a complete and cohesive presentation including costumes, sets, lights, sound, choreography, musicians and performers.

Best Drama
For a Non-Musical production of a Dramatic Play. This production should most exemplify a complete and cohesive presentation including costumes, sets, lights, sound, and performers.

Best Comedy
For a Non-Musical production of a Comedic Play. This production should most exemplify a complete and cohesive presentation including costumes, sets, lights, sound, and performers, and “darn it,” it should have made you laugh.

Best Premier of a New, Original, Local Script
This can be awarded to a play of any type or a musical where the script was written by a local artist and is presented for the FIRST TIME for an audience by a local theatre.

Best Director (Play)
For a Non-Musical Production, inclusive of/but not limited to: Drama, Comedy, Tragedy, or History. Person whose production most exemplifies a complete and cohesive vision including costumes, sets, lights, sound, and performers.

Best Director (Musical)
For a Musical Production. Person whose production most exemplifies a complete and cohesive vision including costumes, sets, lights, sound, choreography, musicians and performers.

Best Actor (Play)
For a Non-Musical Production, inclusive of/but not limited to: Drama, Comedy, Tragedy, or History. This covers the main role or sometimes roles in a production.

Best Actor (Musical)
This covers the main role in a Musical production, please take into consideration the acting, singing, and dancing of the performer.

Best Supporting Actor (Play)
For a Non-Musical Production, inclusive of/but not limited to: Drama, Comedy, Tragedy, or History. This covers the secondary roles within a production, which help the main characters towards their ultimate goals.

Best Supporting Actor (Musical)
This covers the secondary roles within a musical production, which help the main characters towards their ultimate goals in a good or a bad manner.

Best Performance Poet
For Performance and Slam Poets performing original material.

Best Dance Production
This is an award for Dance Presentations where a considerable amount of the performers are over eighteen (18) years of age. It should be based on the complete performance including costumes, lighting scenery/props, sound, etc.

Best Youth Performer
Productions with a predominance of performers under the age of 18. Includes Children’s Theater and High School productions.

Best Comedian
Stand-up or solo comedy performer.

Best Comedy Ensemble
A group performing comedy.
